Are the Americans Headed To Civil War

These days it is not unusual to hear people talk about an impending American Civil War brewing. But could it be that reality is a bit different on the ground. It seems that since the healthcare bill has been passed there has been a deep division as to what this means. From one side that supports the bill to those who simply hate everything about it. Both sides seem to be prepared to go to war over it. Do I smell a civil war?

Over the last six to eight months there have been a number of incidents of politicians being threatened and in some cases attacked. There have been bricks and rocks thrown through the windows of many politicians and others have had serious threats made against their lives and their families. The democrats are blaming mainstream commentators who are in support of the Republican party or seem to do so, for stirring up all the violent and rude display been shown by some members of the public. But many republicans and their commentator supporters have turned around and accused the democrats of inciting the violence themselves by their own actions.

It seems to me that many Americans fear that their current president is a socialist. Now I do not know either way but one thing for sure, there is a lot of misinformation out there. I don’t think the American won’t have choices with regards to healthcare, education, job creation, etc. I think there is an underlining issue to all of this and that is who benefits more by having things a certain way. Some will say the capitalist who own most of the wealth in the country.

If a simple thing like providing healthcare for all Americans can strike up so much hatred amongst people in the country it seem like a war is certainly brewing. It is obvious to most of us who do not live in America that they are making a difficult thing out of a simple thing. In that healthcare is not difficult to do, you are either going to provide it for the masses or you are not. Saying that however, we all saw where the equity release schemes led when they were not under control in the states (thank you mac & may).

If American history has taught us anything it would be that when there is great division on a topical issue both within political parties and in the public domain, there is likely to be serious social problems that will result.
