GOP Using The NYC Mosque Issue For The Mid-Term Elections

The Grand Old Party or the GOP as the Republican Party is usually known in the United States has gone on overdrive and launched an all out attack on the President Barack Hussien Obama about his comments on the building of a mosque near to Ground Zero where the twin towers once stood. The GOP has made it distinctively clear that they will use the mosque issue for its campaign for the upcoming midterm elections. The Republicans across the length and breadth of the country seized on the President’s comments and viewed it as support to the initiative to building of the disputed mosque and tagged him as an elitist and said he was being insensitive to the emotions and the feelings of the families of the victims. Will this be the new health care and locum jobs for doctors arguement? It seems to be shaping up that way, and just in time for mid term as well.

The leaders of the Republican Party unleashed criticism on the Democratic Party and especially the President and said the party was trying to win over the Muslims with petty politics. The GOP said they definitely respect and abide by the “freedom of religion” but that does not necessarily mean people’s sentiments will be unaccounted for. The Republicans recalled the emotions connected to that Black Day and said the President was being cold and void of any kind of compassion and he had vested political interest in mind. It was also said Obama was thinking more like a lawyer and he was turning a blind eye to the best interests of the Americans.

The GOP stated the issue is not about religious freedom at all; rather it is about taking the emotions attached to the incident into account. The republicans made it amply clear the mosque was definitely an issue for the residents of New York. With this steady Republican drumbeat the election campaign of several Democratic candidates have taken a beating and this vital issue coupled with the rising unemployment and Obama’s plummeting approval ratings has made the job of the Democrats all the more difficult.

It seems like the American cannot live by their own rules of law enshrined in the constitution and the objects are mainly due to the widespread hatred of Muslims. The irony is that it is likely that many Muslims living in the US were born in the country and do not support terrorism.
