Christian Pro-life Group in Ohio Recently Had A Nine-Week Old Fetus Testify
Posted by admin on March 15, 2011
It was the first time that a nine-week old fetus was asked to testify in a committee hearing in Ohio. The fetus was not able to say anything but rather it let everyone hear its heartbeat through ultrasound.
The sound of the fetus’ heartbeat is enough proof that this is a life worth saving, according to the pro-life group. The group supports the anti-abortion bill that is still being debated on in Ohio.
There was supporting ‘evidence’ such as an ultrasound machine, a screen projecting the fetus’ image and the heartbeat was shown in color. The ‘testimony’ also included many ultrasound images of mothers that was put on a large screen for everyone to see.
The pro-life group says that an unborn fetus needed to have the chance to be heard, and in a manner of speaking, it can be done through their heartbeats.
The anti-abortion bill says that a fetus can’t be aborted when there is presence of demonstrable, obvious and visible heartbeat. A fetus normally develops a heartbeat within 18 days. Legislators think this is a simple bill that explains clearly what it is all about.
This news was met with mixed reactions, like anyone who says they do sign making. Some think that it was a publicity stunt by the pro-life group. Others think that it was a crazy thought that could have some undesirable consequences later on. Others feel that the real issue is being sidelined- which should be about women who would be deprived of their personal choices.
Still, there are many who are interested in just how the committee of legislators will respond to this kind of occurrence in their presence.
