What Britons see in America - large open spaces and a lower cost of living

Britons who visit the United States are always impressed by the sheer size of the country, which is difficult to acknowledge. You can visit just a few states and already feel like you have travelled through an entire continent, without realising that you have only barely scratched the surface.
